Safety

All coaches have been certified and put through a back ground check.
Only badged personnel are allowed on the practice field and side lines.

Please be aware cheerleading is a physical sport and as such there is a very real possibility your child may be seriously injured.
In order to prevent injury there are guidelines which we must follow.

  1. Warm up: The first 15 minutes of practice is stretching and warming up your child’s muscles. He/She must be at practice on time to do the required warm up and prevent injury.
  2. Conditioning: Your child’s coach will condition every practice. This includes but is not limited to, push ups, sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, running, lunges, etc. This is to strengthen their muscles in order to do the physical activities required by cheerleaders.

Basic safety rules are as follows:
  1. Under NO circumstance should any cheerleader practice stunts with out a coach present!
  2. There will be NO horse playing while stunting.
  3. No jewelry or nail polish should be worn at any time during a cheerleading function.
  4. Water and or Gatorade should be brought to EVERY practice and game.
  5. Make sure your child has a full belly before games.
 Practice

Cheer and Dance practices are held week nights at Sandalwood High School. Your coach may choose to also practice at a gym one night a week. Complete schedules will be provided by your Coach or Team Mom.
Practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from August 1st until Labor Day. After Labor Day practice will be held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays. General from around 6-8.

Practice uniforms should be worn.

Again, earrings and nail polish must be removed prior to practice.

We practice rain or shine. Please come to practice unless your coach has called to cancel. If there is lightening your coach will cancel practice.

Game Day

Games will be held on Saturdays.

Jacksonville, 32217.
Away games are held throughout Jacksonville. The directions and locations can be found on our website.
You should receive a game schedule the 3rd week of practice.

Your child is expected to arrive at the park one hour prior to game start. Your child will participate in a “book check” to verify that each has complete registration records, wearing a complete uniform including clean and polish free nails, no ear rings, patches appropriately attached, and hair in ponytail.

If a spirit leader is not in compliance of any of the above, he/she will not be allowed to participate in the activities that day.
If a cheerleader does not arrive in time for book check he/she may not be allowed to participate in the game.

The Road to the National Championship

For a cheerleading or dance squad, the difficult road to the national championship is quite similar to that of the football teams’. A spirit squad will showcase their best (2:30) two minute and thirty second routine complete with music and cheering at a league championship level. The top 2 squads advance to regional competition in each small and large category, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.
At regional competition, a spirit squad will again perform their top (2:30) two-minute and thirty second routine in hopes of winning. The first and second place squads in the region in each small and large category, Novice, Intermediate and Advanced are invited to perform at Disney’s Wide World of Sports™ in hopes of winning a national championship for their local association.

The participants in the Pop Warner program are unique as opposed to those of other programs. While they are taught about the values of competition, they are also maintaining their grades at a satisfactory level in order to attain the ultimate prize of being named a Pop Warner National Champion. We salute all the efforts and accomplishments that our participants put forward!

Volunteer Commitment

As with most youth organizations, volunteering is vital to the success of the Pablo Creek Saints. All board members, coaching staff, and Pop Warner officials are volunteers.

We also rely on our team participant’s parents to volunteer throughout the season to help the organization thrive.   We appreciate all the hard work from the staff and parents and realize with out everyone working together Pablo Creek would not be what it is.

One of the cheerleading programs specific roles is to run the concession stand.
The cheerleading families operate the concession stand at Wurn Park every home game. Profits from the concession stand are used by the Cheer squads for miscellaneous expenses throughout the season.
This includes new equipment and traveling expenses to Orlando for Regional and National competitions.
Each family will be required to work a minimum of 4 hours or pay $100 to compensate for their volunteer hours.

There are many opportunities to volunteer. Please discuss your interest with your Team Mom!
